What Is Somatic Therapy?

Somatic bodywork is a body-centered therapeutic approach that explores how stress, emotions, and past experiences can show up in the body, not just the mind. It uses touch, body awareness, and conversation to help you notice patterns of tension, holding, and protective responses in your body.

During a session, Sam helps you slow down and become aware of what you’re experiencing physically and emotionally, without forcing anything to change. By gently bringing awareness to these patterns and learning to stay present with them, your nervous system can begin to respond differently. Over time, this can help release physical tension, develop a greater sense of safety and regulation, and create more freedom in how you experience your body and emotions.

In simple terms: somatic work helps you understand and work with what your body is communicating, rather than trying to heal through talking alone.
